A custom-designed outdoor seating solution aboard the Aroya, engineered to combine comfort, durability, and refined aesthetics in a demanding marine environment.
The Aroya is a cruise ship conceived to deliver premium experiences across every space. The Outdoor Club on Deck 17 required a seating solution able to withstand constant exposure to water, salt air, and harsh marine conditions. Chimento Design oversaw the entire process, from concept through to installation. The sofa is upholstered in Delius Fabrics technical textile, Timor Delimar 5004 in Dark Blue Exterior finish, and built on a structure of marine okoumé and aluminium, with a substructure in 5000-series aluminium alloy and AISI 316 stainless steel, anchored to the existing deck steps. Designed for areas where water can reach up to 30 cm in the evening hours, the sofa features a double protective layer and hydrophobic foam. IP68-rated LED strip lighting by De Wave enhances the atmosphere, while Abet Laminati 769 CS MEG Wood FIN SEI laminate finishes, applied with MS polymer adhesive and dedicated primer, ensure lasting durability at sea.
